Société d'aménagement de la rivière Madawaska
In the goal of protecting, conserving, and improving the environment and the Madawaska River biodiversity, the SARM launched a project for revegetation of banks where the vegetation is lowor absent. Since the month of June 2017, more than 850 indigenous plants from more than 25 different species were planted along the river in the region of Edmundston, Saint-Joseph-de-Madawaska and Baker Lake. Along with this project, the SARM organized several presentations in schools in order to educate youth on the importance of riverbanks with abundant and diversified vegetation. Several plants were planted in school yards with the help of students in order to sensitize them to this project. Additional Information.
